Thursday (2/9): IRON had its last regular season competition of the 2022-2023 season by heading up to Cambridge-Isanti for a quad with Cambridge-Isanti (L&M), Farmington, and White Bear Lake. The team finished 0-3 on the night in duals.

Saturday (2/11): IRON was the host location for the Suburban East Conference JV Tournament. We had tons of parents there to help and we provided a very highly complimented Coaches Room! As far as wrestling, IRON had 2 finalists, Carson Bockenhauer (138) and Ricky Busby (138) who actually wrestled each other for the championship at 138. Carson ended up winning and was our lone champion.

In addition to the JV Conference, we sent Hazel down to Hastings for the MSHSL Section 3-4 Individual Tournament. In the second year of Girls Wrestling being a MSHSL sanctioned sport, wrestlers that place top 2 qualify for the State Tournament at the Excel Energy Center. Hazel finished the day 2-2 losing a tough match in the true-second match to finish 3rd in her bracket.

Wrestler of the Week: This week we have two wrestlers that earned Wrestler of the Week. First is Hazel Bendix for being our highest placing Girl in school history at the MSHSL Section Tournament. Carson Bockenhauer is the other wrestler of the week for winning the SEC JV Tournament.

Outlook: We are now into the post-season! This Friday, IRON will be over at Mounds View High School for the 4AAA Team Section Tournament. IRON is the #5 seed and will wrestle against Centennial (#4 seed) in the first round. For the Tournament Bracket, Click Here
