Thursday (1/19): IRON headed out to Orono for a Quad with Anoka, Benilde-St.Margaret's, and Orono. The team finished 2-1 on the night losing its first dual to Anoka (56-15), and then bounced back winning the next duals vs Orono (51-30) and Benilde-St.Margaret's (40-33).
Saturday (1/21): The IRON team went in two different direction on Saturday. The 9th grade and under team headed up to Mora for the MNGWL Team State Tournament. They wrestler Perham in the first round and lost 63-18 and then lost their next dual against Apple Valley 47-21. The rest of the team went to Park Center for and individual tournament where 4 out of the 5 Varsity wrestlers placed 6th and above.
The Wrestler of the week is Romer Pugh (160) for going 5-1 over the week and finishing 2nd at the Park Center tournament
Outlook: The IRON team has a busy week coming up. First, on Tuesday (1/24) the team will host a Quad +1 at Irondale in the main gym agains Cretin-Durham Hall, North, Minneapolis North, and Tartan. On Thursday (1/26) the team will head down to East Ridge for a Tri agains East Ridge and St. Paul Harding. Friday. (1/27) the team will be at Totino Grace for a Tri against Totino Grace and Rogers. Finally, on Saturday (1/28), the 9th grade and under team will be at Armstrong for the MNGWL Region 6 Qualifier where wrestlers that place top two at their weight will qualify for the MNGWL Individual State Tournament the following weekend.
