Friday (1/21): SIS traveled over to White Bear Lake for a Quad against White Bear Lake, Centennial, and Mahtomedi. The team was able to finish the night 3-0, with getting two big dual wins over Sectional opponent’s; Centennial and White Bear Lake.
Saturday (1/22): The Freshman and younger group headed to Armstrong High School for the MNGWL Individual Regional Tournament to try and qualify for the MNGWL State tournament. We had 6 place winners with Arlo (106) and Clayton (120) finished 2nd to qualify for the MNGWL State Tournament.
The rest of the team headed over to Tartan where they wrestled against Albert Lea (L&M), Goodhue (11), Rock Ridge, and Park Center. The team ended the day going 1-3 in duals.
Wrestler(s) of the Week: Arlo and Clayton are our wrestlers of the week. Not only did the qualify for the MNGWL State Tournament, but they both avenged losses against White Bear Lake from earlier in the season!
Outlook: This week the SIS team has their last home competition on Thursday and then we will have 3 wrestlers (Arlo, Ryder, and Clayton) heading to the MNGWL State Tournament on Saturday.
